Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for April 2025:
Total international tourist arrivals increased by 13.6% YoY to 2,403,451 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 5.1% YoY to 1,306,080 visitors in the first four months of 2025, representing recovery rates of 99.5% and 185.9% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of April 2025, arrivals from ASEAN were 332,170 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 10.4% compared to the month of March 2025
Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 28.0%, followed by Vietnam (17.1%), China (16.1%), U.S.A (3.8%), Lao PDR (3.4%), Korea (3.1%), U.K (2.6%), France (2.6%), Indonesia (2.3%) and Japan (1.7%)
These top 10 markets accounted for 80.8% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 11.8% YoY to 1,941,714 visitors in the first four months of 2025
Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 22.6% YoY to 1,011,809 visitors and 7.7% YoY to 1,391,642 visitors in the first four months of 2025, representing recovery rates of 60.4% and 188.2% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of April 2025, arrivals via land / waterways were 342,818 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 7.2%, compared to the month of March 2025
Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 26.0% YoY to 717,943 visitors in the first four months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 94.6% compared to the same period in 2019
Arrivals from China increased by 48.8% YoY to 387,505 visitors in the first four months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 43.7% compared to the same period in 2019
International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 31.4% YoY to 569,118 visitors in the first four months of 2025, with the top 5 markets coming from China (47.3%), Vietnam (19.4%), Indonesia (6.7%), Thailand (5.1%) and Taiwan (3.5%), representing a recovery rate of 128.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of April 2025, international business-related travels into Cambodia was 149,295 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 6.4% compared to the month of March 2025
International business-related travels coming from China increased by 44.6% YoY to 269,381 visitors in the first four months of 2025, representing a recovery rate of 79.6% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of April 2025, international business-related travels coming from China was 72,405 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 4.6% compared to the month of March 2025

Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 28.4% YoY to 2,396,937 visitors and 20.0% YoY to 4,303,188 visitors in 2024, representing recovery rates of 54.4% and 195.0% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 244,744 visitors and 454,324 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 0.8% and 18.5% respectively compared to the month of November 2024
Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 28.3% YoY to 1,752,583 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 84.6% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 165,082 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.3% compared to the month of November 2024
Arrivals from China increased by 55.0% YoY to 848,952 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 35.9% compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of December 2024, arrivals from China was 79,177 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 1.5% compared to the month of November 2024
International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 37.8% YoY to 1,393,198 visitors in 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (41.9%), Vietnam (21.8%), Indonesia (8.2%), Thailand (5.3%) and Taiwan (3.4%), representing a recovery rate of 101.6% compared to the same period in 2019
International business-related travels coming from China increased by 48.2% YoY to 584,138 visitors in 2024, representing a recovery rate of 55.8% compared to the same period in 2019
